Bernard is Head of Analytics at Investec Bank plc. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector and has been with Investec for 10 years. His most recent project focussed on the delivery of the IFRS9 solution for the bank covering the data, models, implementation and business, credit and finance integration. He has led teams responsible for Business Information and Data Warehousing, Transaction Modelling and Reporting, Credit Reporting and Analytics and Credit Modelling. He was involved with many aspects of Investec’s retail mortgage business, setting up valuation, amortised cost and impairment models. Prior to joining Investec Bernard had over 20 years of experience in analytics and modelling at various banks specialising in portfolio optimisation, quantitative credit valuation and structured securities. Prior to that he worked as a medical doctor in the NHS. Bernard graduated from Cambridge University in Medicine and Computer Science in 1980.
