I started my career in the Military sector and am a seasoned Information Security Professional with more than 18 years of experience in this field, driving strong Information Security Transformation programs for some of the largest international Telecom and Insurance Groups in the world (Fortune Global 500 (2017) #149 and #25 respectively).
Throughout the years I have managed several multidisciplinary teams in a multi-cultural environment, and have worked on international projects in most areas of Information Security, IT Risk Management and Business Continuity.
I am a mentor and industry influencer with several talks at events in multiple countries, having received a “distinguished speaker” award from the Khaleej Times, the longest running English newspaper in the UAE.
I am a Certified CISO and hold 2 licentiate degrees and a Master, all related with Computer Science. I am passionate about my work and enjoy promoting a high performance environment for my teams.
I have experience working with many industry standards, like ITIL, Sarbanes-Oxley, Solvency II, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, ISO22301, etc. and have training in Project Management (PMI) and CISSP.
With strong interpersonal communication skills I have experience in bridging the gap between IT and Business and executing on complex Information Security programs.
Currently I am the CSO at the AXA Gulf Region, responsible for 5 countries (UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and I am the head the following departments:
