Chief Digital Officer, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne
Swiss and British national, Julia Aymonier upon graduating from Glasgow University and the University of South Wales with a Bsc (Hons) in Computer Science, specialised in IT for the banking, finance and trading industries working for companies such as JP Morgan (Suisse) SA, La Compagnie Benjamin de Rothschild SA, Banque Bordier et Cie and Union Bancaire Privée amongst others. Her career has led to her working in in various countries in Europe but also in the USA.
After more than 25 years in these industries, Julia chose to change direction and bring her wealth of experience in IT to the Hospice général (responsible for social welfare and immigration in the canton of Geneva): “I wanted to use my experience to help the Hospice général help others.”
Joining l’Ecole hotelière de Lausanne in June 2015, she became member of the Executive Committee and was named CIO on the 1st February 2016, making her the first woman member in the history of the school.
She is passionate about the use of AI, Virtual and Augmented Reality as well as robotics in the hospitality and education industries.
Since the 1st May 2019, Julia has occupied the post of Chief Digital Officer reinforcing the importance that EHL puts on its digital transformation.
