Dr. Pablo Vidales has two Bachelor in Science degrees, one in Computer Science and one in Telecommunication from Mexico. He got his Master and PhD degrees in Expert Systems from the University of Cambridge in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He moved to Berlin, where Dr. Vidales studied a 2-year postdoctoral research program on AI for mobile devices in TU Berlin, and worked for Deustche Telekom R&D Labs. While in Germany, Dr. Vidales enrolled in the MIT Sloan Business School Executive Program on Strategy and Innovation. He returned to Mexico in 2010 and worked with top financial institutions all around the globe on Digital Transformations. Dr. Vidales has lectured in top academic institutions in Latin America, recognized with different awards, author of 70+ international publications, with over 1,000 references, and inventor of over 12 patents in EU and US. In 2017, Dr. Vidales moved to Toronto to continue developing his global career and joined Scotiabank as Head of Digital Banking Analytics.
Dr. Vidales is critical about the need of an Ethics framework around Analytics & AI. Although, he is convinced of the imminent changes and benefits that AI brings to humanity, he is also working on constructing the Ethics escorting Digital Transformations.
