Chief Strategy Officer, LEO

Piers Lea has worked in distance learning and technology-enabled communications since the early 1980s when he was at the University of London. He founded LINE Communications in 1989 which he sold into Learning Technologies Group in 2014. He is now Chief Strategy Officer for LTG and LEO (the merge between LINE and Epic) where he is responsible both for setting strategy and working with key clients.

Piers has worked for many large-scale organisations ranging from the UK Ministry of Defence, Jaguar Land Rover, the NHS, SAID Business School and KPMG.

At the 2009 E-learning Awards, Piers was presented with an award for Outstanding Industry Achievement. The award citation stated, “Piers has repeatedly demonstrated the impact that targeted e-learning and communications solutions can have on strategic business objectives. His clear and powerful vision of how technology-enabled learning and communications can genuinely transform organisations has been the key driver behind his company's success over the past 20 years”. At the same awards LEO won the 'Company of the Year' Gold in 2017.

Piers has been ranked in the top ten corporate e-learning movers and shakers in the UK and top six in Europe.
