Previously Executive Head of Marketing and Commercial Sales at Cell C, Simon joined MultiChoice in 2012 as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer for MultiChoice South Africa. Simon was recently promoted in 2018 to lead all of MultiChoice’s customer facing activities across its entire customer journey.
Simon is now currently charged with delivering DStv’s full customer experience across all customer touchpoints. Prior to this, Simon had successfully rebranded DStv and redirected its positioning to “Feel Every Moment” to reflect the PayTV operators move to anytime anywhere entertainment. Before that Simon joined Cell C in March 2004 where he led the makeover of the company’s brand and introduced the ever-popular Trevor Noah “CEO” – Customer Experience Officer Campaign. Before joining Cell C, he served as Marketing Director for the Walt Disney Company in Europe, as well as holding other Senior International Marketing and Strategy positions at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising.
Simon obtained a BA degree at Stellenbosch and an MBA at Thunderbird – The American Graduate School of International Management. Simon has also attended numerous executive management courses at Harvard, INSEAD, IMD, GIBS and most recently the Executive Program at Singularity University.
