Manager of Data Strategy, Department of Industry, Innovation & Science
Tim currently leads the Data Strategy team within the Department’s Data Management and Analytics Branch. This includes responsibility for the implementation of the Department-wide Data Strategy, which outlines a vision and plan for making data a core element of the Department’s work and embedding data use as a cultural norm.
Prior to this role, Tim was Director of the Workforce Planning and Metrics team at the Australian Public Service Commission, overseeing a number of data collections relating to the APS workforce, and delivering the Commission’s central workforce planning function.
Tim commenced his Australian Public Service career at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, where he managed a wide range of data collections across the health and welfare spectrum—including child protection, youth justice, mental health, housing, homelessness and population health. Tim is a statistician by training, with degrees in Science and Commerce from the ANU.
