This Privacy Policy sets out our commitment to protecting the privacy of personal information provided to us, or otherwise collected by us, offline or online, including through our website and mobile application (Site). • your credit card or payment details where you provide these to us directly (usually you will provide these details to our third party payment processors and we will not have access to these details);

• your preferences and/or opinions including on technology, software and tools you might invest in and your interests in the functions they perform. This information may be collected at our events including at conferences;
• any sensitive information described below;
• information you provide to us through customer surveys;
• details of products and services we have provided to you and/or that you have enquired about, and our response to you;
• your browser session and geo-location data, device and network information, statistics on page views and sessions, acquisition sources, search queries and/or browsing behaviour;
• information about your access and use of our Site, including through the use of Internet cookies, your communications with our Site, the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using and the domain name of your Internet service provider;
• additional personal information that you provide to us, directly or indirectly, through your use of our Site, associated applications, associated social media platforms and/or accounts from which you permit us to collect information; and
• any other personal information requested by us and/or provided by you or a third party.

We may collect these types of personal information directly from you or from third parties that sponsor and offer promotional and/or marketing services at our events and conferences.

Collection and use of personal information

We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the following purposes:

• to enable you to access and use our Site, associated applications and associated social media platforms;
• to organise conferences and events;
• to contact and communicate with you;
• for internal record keeping and administrative purposes;
• for analytics, market research and business development, including to operate and improve our Site, associated applications and associated social media platforms;
• to run competitions and/or offer additional benefits to you;
• for advertising and marketing, including to send you promotional information about our products and services and information about third parties that we consider may be of interest to you;
• to comply with our legal obligations and resolve any disputes that we may have; and

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that this Site engages with, have their own privacy policies. Email and marketing engagement data — where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent, we may collect information about how you interact with our emails, including whether an email is opened, when it is opened, links clicked, device/browser information, IP address and related technical information. We use this information to manage mailing lists, measure campaign performance, improve communications, maintain deliverability, and understand engagement with our content and events.

From time to time our sponsors and/or partners wish to contact our subscribers and customers or contacts who have indicated an interest in the products, services or events provided by such third parties. If you register for products or services offered by such sponsors or third parties, or for events sponsored in whole or in part by a third party, or you have a conference badge scanned by a sponsor while attending an event or otherwise opt-in to permit us to share your personally identifiable information, then you may receive communications directly from such third parties. If you provide information on a co-branded site or while using a co-branded service or access co-branded content, you grant us permission to share the information you have provided with that service or site partner. Their use of your information is subject to their privacy policies and we urge you to read those policies and be aware of their privacy practices before registering.

How we treat personal information that is also sensitive information

Sensitive information is a sub-set of personal information that is given a higher level of protection under the Australian Privacy Principles. Sensitive information means information relating to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, trade union or other professional associations or memberships, philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation or practices, criminal records, health information or biometric information.

The type of sensitive information we may collect about you includes your dietary requirements.

Provided you consent, your sensitive information may only be used and disclosed for purposes relating to the primary purpose for which the sensitive information was collected including:

• to provide you with dietary services at conferences and events you attend;
• providing services for a purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose for which the sensitive information was collected;
• data analytics purposes; and/or
• referring you to medical or health service providers in circumstances where it is impractical for us to obtain your consent.

Sensitive information may also be used or disclosed if required or authorised by law.

We will never ask for your sensitive information through social media platforms and you should not provide sensitive information via a social media platform.

Your rights and controlling your personal information

Choice and consent: Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By providing personal information to us, you consent to us collecting, holding, using and disclosing your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You do not have to provide personal information to us, however, if you do not, it may affect your use of this Site or the products and/or services offered on or through it.

We are committed to ensuring that the personal information we collect is secure. If you subscribe to our newsletters, register for our events, download our content, or otherwise agree to receive communications from us, we may send you marketing, event and business updates relevant to your interests.

Cross-Border Data Transfers and Cloud Storage
