Data and Analytics

In episode 10 we talk to Veronica Brits & Lays Bammesberger about the use of AI and machine learning in social listening.

Before this call I had heard the term social listening but I didn't really know too much about it. That's what I asked Veronica and Lays, from Meltwater, to join me over a cup of virtual coffee to explain it in more detail.

Some key points that stood out for me during the chat were:

  • Truly listening to your customer - directly or indirectly - is an essential part of your business and data strategy
  • Make sure you progress from data to information to insights to wisdom for better decision making
  • While bias can be removed or understood don't sanitise your decision making by taking out the human element

DataCon Africa: Live is a 100% virtual conference and will connect Africa's most progressive data analytics leaders with the world's most forward-thinking solution providers, set against a backdrop of cutting-edge content that you cannot find anywhere else. At home, in the office or on the road.
